Did the top 3 live up to expectations? Did they all bring their A game? Did anyone stand out as not wanting to miss a thing?  Read on.....
- David A

Judge’s Choice: And So It Goes
This was beautiful. I know there are a lot of David haters out there but even they have to admit this was good. Randy said he was happy that Paula chose a good song and he is in the zone and is in it to win it. Paula said it was pure and stunning and he was a storyteller. Simon said it was very good, no surprises, a bit predictable, and it was good.

Contestant’s Choice: With You
This was a strange song choice. Chris Brown? I guess this will appeal to the younger fans. Wait. The more I think about it, the more I think this was a smart song choice. David needed to do something besides a ballad and who better than popular Chris?  Randy said he applauds the fact that he tried something new and young but he’s not sure it was the right song. Paula said it was perfect and the right tone for his voice and it was another part of who he was besides ballads. Simon also applauds that he didn’t do a ballad but it wasn’t really him, and the dancing was awkward.

Producer’s Choice: Longer
I think David did the best job he could with this; it was a weird song to pick for him but he made the most of it. Randy said another interesting song choice, and he can sing the phone book. Paula said it was very lovely and what she expected. Simon said he sang the song very well but he thought the song and the lyrics were horrible because it was so gooey and it was for a 90 year old. He also said David did enough to get into the finals next week.

Syesha

Judge’s Choice: If I Ain’t Got You
I love Alicia. This was good; I didn’t hear anything original, but it was good. Randy said he thought it would work really well and she did an amazing job on it and he is glad she is peaking at the right time. Paula said she is proud that she is the last lady standing and it’s hard to do a song that is so identified with an artist like this one. Simon said she sang it very well but he wishes Randy had chosen something where she didn’t sound so much like the original. I think that was what I was trying to say too. Simon and Paula also said how gorgeous she looks, which I agree with.

Contestant’s Choice: Fever
I love her dress. Syesha should be a model.  This performance was just a’ight for me.  Randy said it was a very interesting song choice but she sang it amazingly well. Paula said she looks beautiful and she is surprised at the song choice because it doesn’t show who she is as an artist. Simon said she will probably regret that song choice because it was a lame cabaret performance.

Producer’s Choice: Hit Me Up
Once again, Syesha looks stunning. This song wasn’t my taste but Syesha sang it well. Randy said it was just okay for him. Paula said it was from ‘Happy Feet’, and she did the song very well but it wasn’t the song that defines her as an artist and it may not be enough to get to the finals. Simon said it was better than the second song and her best moment was last week. This song didn’t give her the defining moment she needed.

David C

Judge’s Choice: First Time Ever I Saw Your Face
This is a memorable song sung by a female singer. Simon says it was a great song of all time and he wanted to see David do something different, and it’s a very tough song but he thinks David will do well. OMG I LOVED THIS! I have to agree with Simon totally; it is great to hear a well known song changed up like this. Wow!!!!! Wow!!!!  Wow!!!! Randy said he loved the high note at the end but he wishes Simon didn’t pick something predictable and he wanted more rocking. Oh please Randy. That was so tit for tat. Paula said it was one of her favorite songs and he is now the second favorite person who sings it. Simon said it was one of his best performances to date. This is what makes him brilliant, he takes risks, and round 1 goes to Cook and Cowell.

Contestant’s Choice: Dare You To Move
David is playing the guitar. I didn’t like this as much as his first one. Randy said it was a little pitchy and it wasn’t his best. Paula said it’s hard to cut the song down and it felt like he just got to the beginning when he hit the end. Simon said it was what he expected, it wasn’t the most melodic song, and all three of them had an okay middle round.

Producer’s Choice: I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing
The pimp spot was not wasted tonight. Randy said he loved the song but it was predictable and it was okay. Paula said it had the beginning, middle and end, and David, seeya in the finals. Simon said it is one of the great songs of all time, and David wins the night.

Roundup:
I totally agree that David Cook won the night. I loved his first and last song. I think our first male-male finale since season 2 is going to be a reality as of tomorrow night. I cannot believe we are up to the finale already. I’m glad!

This was an okay top 3 show. I liked season 2 and season 5’s more but this was decent in comparison. I am looking forward to the home visits tomorrow; that is always a fun episode.  Otherwise………… nothing happened tonight that was unexpected or unusual. Until tomorrow and the determination of who is in the finale…..
