#Any surprises? If you thought there were you, haven’t been paying attention.
- I will have to say I think I liked this final 3 boot show better than any other in Idol history. It was perfectly paced and we got to see a lot of cool stuff. We also ended up with what most everyone thought would be the final 2 as long as 10 weeks ago. I won’t do a recap but I want to hit on a few points.
I loved the fact this year we finally got to see the packages of the runner-up and winner. By doing that tonight, this makes the first time ever. The last 6 seasons when the winner was announced we never get to see their final packages. In fact on YouTube I saw where someone gave Kat her final package because she didn’t get one on the show. Great idea Idol PTB and great result.
That is not the only Idol first. This will be the first time in Idol history we have two in the final who never were in the bottom 3 or 2. Last season we should have had that with Melinda and Jordin but America screwed up and gave us Blake instead of the vastly superior Melinda. That, by the way, is inarguable.
The way the show was put together made for really good TV. No filler (even though I like that stuff) just great homecoming scenes and Idol packages. No ditzy questions from the net. No Ryan/Cowell sparring matches. Just good Idol stuff we want to see.
And the most hilarious moment in Idol history. The look on Simon’s face when Fantasia was whaling around the stage. (See Simon picture) I’m still losin’ it. I didn’t really care for Fantasia on the show but this…..I really didn’t like. Think I’m being overly critical? Simon’s face was worth a thousand words.
So we bid Syesha farewell. I really expect to be seeing her soon and I’m not talking about the tour. She will be working as an actress/model singer for a long time. This is my favorite top 3 of all time. Every other season there was sat least one in the final 3 that didn’t flip my switch. Not this season. I liked them all. I do wish Carly had been a member of this top three then it would have been easily the best of all time…..for me.
The duo Davids will become the duel Davids next week. And like Simon said, it should be a humdinger. We have been expecting this for weeks and now it is reality. It should be one of, if not the best, final ever. Neither has had a terribly horrendous week and the final should be no different. I can’t wait………………………………but I guess I’ll have to like the rest of you.
Is it freaking Tuesday yet?
