Top 8 Performances from Top 8 Weeks - Rank for 7 Seasons:

This is an interesting week.  Top 7 weeks brought us interesting and difficult themes.  Some of you may disagree with my season one additions to the list, but I stand by my decisions. J

Do you agree with the list?

THE LIST:

7. RJ Helton: “Superstitious” (Season 1)- One of the most underrated male voices we’ve had.  He had a lovely tone, wonderful control, and was such a sweet guy.  He made Stevie sound so easy, that we didn’t realize Stevie songs would plague so many future contestants.  If he could have out performed Justin Guarini, he would have been the last man standing.
Check it out: Superstition

6. Paris Bennett: “These Foolish Things” (Season 5)- Classy, subtle, and beyond her years.  This is another standout performance, from a little lady. (Ignore the strange suit she was wearing.)
Check it out: These Foolish Things

5.Syesha Mercado: “Vanishing” (Season 7) She was known for picking obvious or tired song choices, but here she picked a lesser known Mariah song.  Mariah loved it and I loved it.  Syesha could really sing, and she really continued grow throughout the season.  The end of the song is just awesome.
Check it out: Vanishing

4. Jennifer Hudson: “Weekend in New England” – (Season 3) It’s Jennifer.  Do I really need to say anything else?
Check it out:  Weekend in New England

3. Clay Aiken: “Tell Her About It” (Season 2)- Simon had just told him to stop singing the ballads, so what does Clay do? He takes a song and he slows it waay down, tricks Simon and than kicks it up a notch.  Awesome.
Check it out: Tell Her About It

2. Christina Christian: “Aint No Sunshine” (Season 1)- Christina was far from my favorite, but I can’t deny that this performance was hot!  This was her performance of the season and she performed it on tour as well.  You gotta watch!
Check it out: Aint No Sunshine

1.David Cook: “Always Be My Baby” (Season 7) Pure magic.
Check it out: Always Be My Baby

HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Kelly Clarkson: Don't Play That Song
Tamyra Gray:  If I Were You're Woman
Kimberley Locke: New York State of Mind
Ruben Studdard: Just the Way You Are
Diana DeGarmo: One Voice
Fantasia Barrino:  It's a Miracle
Vonzell Solomon: I'm Every Woman
Elliott Yamin: It Had to Be You
Katharine McPhee: Someone to Watch Over Me
Jordin Sparks: Broken Wing
Melinda DooLittle: Trouble is a Woman
Jason Castro: I don't Wanna Cry

BEST SEASON SO FAR:
Each article I’ll continue to tally, until we find out which season really had the most dynamite performances of all! Remember, season 1 doesn’t really get a fair chance, as they don’t have a contribution for Top 12 week, Top 11 week, or Top 9 week.
Season 1: 11
Season 2: 7
Season 3: 15
Season 4: 11
Season 5: 17
Season 6: 5
Season 7: 15

Season 5 is in first place, with 3 and 7 at a close second. --comments-->2--1179--5
